A central vacuum can be a huge benefit in any home, but when you have a clog things can get kind of messy. The experts at CentralVac want to help you use your central vacuum to the best of your ability, and that’s why we have set out to help you learn to unclog.
Here are the two main things you need to know before you can effectively remove a clog in your central vac.
Finding the Clog
All the unclogging skills in the world wont make up for a hidden clog, so before you can fix the clog, you have to find it.
To find your clog, you simply need to determine where you do and do not have suction. If you are lacking suction in all of your outlets, then the clog is most likely in the hose or near the canister.
If there is only a lack of suction in one outlet, then finding the problem is pretty easy. This means that your clog is in or around that outlet.
Unclogging the Vent
Once you have found the clog, you can simply use the hose attachment of your portable vacuum in order to suck out the clog. If the hose doesn’t fit, you can use a towel to block around the outside.
Make sure to give it a few good sucks so you can be sure to find everything that is clogging your line.
